Chris Ruffoni

Artist and musician based in Marsden, West Yorkshire, combining sound, music and kinetic sculpture to create installations that respond to the environment and enable contemplative listening experiences.

Chris is inspired by moments in nature whilst walking in the moors near his home and manifests in work that is aleatoric and organic, patterned but chaotic, responsive but uncontrollable. He aims to provide a unique and direct connection with the environment to create space for the audience to consider their place in the natural world.

Chris has installed at art and music festivals including Supernormal, Green Man, End of the Road, Deer Shed, Kensington and Chelsea Art Week. Two albums have been released (cassette/digital) on Them There Records. Projects have been supported by Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone, BBC 6 Music, Arts Council England and Sound and Music. Selected to be part of Yorkshire Sculpture International's Sculpture Network, May 2020.
